And you probably need some internet marketing training too. I have been in this business for some years now, and I have noticed that the scene is changing all the time. What worked then does not necessary work now. And as soon as there comes a hyped method, everyone (almost) jumps onto it just to see that the grass was not greener at the other side. Facebook Timeline – More Changes

It has not even been one month since we all had to shift our Facebook pages to the new Facebook Timeline news Facebook Timeline – More Changesformat, and here comes more changes. Actually there are two urgent changes that you should act upon.

The first change is more like an adjustment, but it will anyway be a bit troublesome if you are using designed cover images. The change is in the profile picture, which will be changed to 160*160 pixels. And if you are able to change your design cover image yourself, the new profile picture is located at 23 pixels from the left and 210 pixels from the top of the page.

As it seems, Facebook is making changes with shorter and shorter notice, and this new adjustment will take place at April 26th. Not much time to sit around, right?

And the other change I mentioned, is something that can be somewhat annoying for some people. It has to do with a synchronization of your Facebook URL and your Facebook email address. In short that means that anyone can send you a mail using Hotmail, Gmail or any other mail service directly to your Facebook message inbox. Your email address will be your Facebook URL and @facebook.com. So in my case I have the Facebook URL www.facebook.com/pererikolsen and anyone who likes to send messages to my inbox will use pererikolsen@facebook.com. By making this adjustment, Facebook is probably expecting people to stay inside the Facebook platform for a longer time. I would not be surprised if they present a full email service in a near future.

The Key For A Successful Online Business: Be Unique

You have heard it many times before. You should work on your branding! And there are several reasons for that. One is of course the fact that you have to be someone to be trusted to be able to get all the leads and customers needed to run a successful online business. But the reason I thought of now, is the fact that you have to stick out from the crowd.

No other industry are so full of people that ”borrows” your ideas and tries to copy what works. You have probably done it yourself. I certainly have. As soon as the rumor about a new marketing strategy that really works, reaches the main crowd, thousands of people starts copying that same trick over and over again, until it suddenly slows down due to saturation.

And the same thing goes for websites, systems and landing pages. Imagine you find a marketing company where the online buzz is telling you that these guys really knows how to get leads. You join, and get setup with nice landing pages, videos and all the usual stuff. Yes, that should work fine. But another side of the coin is that you are also taught how and where to market your landing page and your products. What happens? Well, of course, most of the people using the same training and pages, does exactly what they have been told, with the result that no-one fills their autoresponders with hundreds of new leads as expected.

I could find more examples of the problems with duplicated websites, teaching thousands of people the same marketing strategies, but I think you have got the point.

That is why it is so important to be unique. And by that i mean being unique as a person (just be yourself), be unique with your marketing resources like banners, landing pages and emails, and be unique when it comes to finding the marketing strategies that works. The last point is not always that easy, but at least try some different strategies out, and select the ones that works best for you.
